Land
The first step in the investment process is finding the proper plot of land. Of course it cannot be any land because there are some specific requirements such as: proximity to the electricity grid (for grid-connected photovoltaic plants), lack of shadowing ( both near - buildings, trees and far - hills), proper inclination of the site etc. Madison Bulgaria offers plots of land which are appropriate for the development of photovoltaic projects.
Permits and authorities
As photovoltaic plants are a type of electric power station there is a certain red tape. First of all the land must be pre-categorized if it is agricultural and only then the investor can start negotiations with the electricity company that owns the electricity grid and the local and government authorities. This process differs in time and if the investor is not working in close contact with the other parties it could be quite costly because of the prolonged time and possible communication misunderstandings. We are well aware of all this and thus we offer plots of land for which some permits have already been obtained. Apart from that we can consult and represent our clients in front of the authorities and the electricity companies.
Price of electricity(feed in tariffs)
According to the Bulgarian energetic law one of its main purposes is to create preconditions for sustainable development of the generation of energy from alternative energy sources. Thus the Bulgarian government has defined feed-in tariffs for electricity generated from photovoltaic systems which are as follows: for systems with nominal power up to 5 кW - 406 Euros/MWh and for systems above 5 kW - 373.48 Euros/MWh. These prices are a result of the government's estimation on the investment expenditures, mean annual productivity, maintenance expenditures, inflation, life of the equipment and capital returns in photovoltaic investment.
Opportunities for subsidy
There are government subsidies for investments in photovoltaic plants. These programs are financed by the EU. Thus projects should be developed in a way that is appropriate for applying for subsidy. The subsidy for investment in photovoltaic plants is up to 80% of the investment expenditures but not more than 200 000 Euro.
